Re: losing verbal ability
My tips:
1) Do puzzles - find a good (preferably free) newspaper with a crossword, sudoku, and a jumble - or whatever puzzles you enjoy. You can do them at lunch or on breaks or while watching TV. I find them super addicting personally.
2) Keep a blog - even if it's private and no one else reads it, I find that blogging regularly is a good compositional exercise for those of us who have been out of school for a while.
3) Keep the spell checker turned on for iChat and Safari. This helps me know whenever I'm spelling something wrong, so I'm not oblivious.
4) Actively learn new words. You can keep a notepad or something and jot them down when you hear/read them. I'm not a fan of arbitrarily learning new words, but if they come up in your reading or on TV or in your daily discourse, just write it down. One word a day, or even one a week, is better than nothing. If you keep it in a notepad you can revisit them regularly. You might find that only a handful of them stick, but that is probably normal and much better than nothing.
I believe in Karma. That means I can do bad things to people all day long and I assume they deserve it.

PM me for pics!No smurfing way. You did that to yourself? Without any kind of numbing agent? I call shenanigans on this.
I remember back when he did it. It was the talk of the MAF for a while. Never did see a picture, mind you.
Still don't care to, thanks.
I'm not sure I believe it. So, indeed -- pixplzthx.

If that doesn't work a barium enema will take your mind off the spelling bee, trust me.
Patience is a virtue of the weak for it makes them stand still long enough for the strong to crush them with ease.
