Re: What was your first Mac???

My first Mac was an iBook G3 300MHz.   As soon as I saw it I bought it, having never used - or seen a Mac before, it was a bit of a mad thing to do (as my wife decided to tell me when I got home).

Since then, I've had 2 more iBooks, 3 Cubes, a PowerBook 3400, G3 PowerBooks, G4 PowerBooks, a Mac mini, an eMac, and G4 PowerMac.

Great machines.

I used a powerbook back in the 90's and thought it was yuck.

I bought a Powerbook in 03 (12" AlBook) and havent looked back smile

Bondi Blue iMac

(But working in printing, I had used Macs a couple years prior to purchase.)

Performa 6116CD.  I remember upgrading it to a whopping 40MB of RAM.  The guys at the computer store thought I was crazy.

Nice to see that you go way back, but that's technically not a Mac.

Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.

Re: What was your first Mac???

Power MAc 7200/90 in 1995. Upgraded the RAM to 32Mb and had to upgrade the V-RAM as well because I went all out and bought a 17 in. monitor (NEC and it was $700 alone!).Had to take a bank loan to buy it and put up the pink slip on my wife's car for collateral, lol.

Re: What was your first Mac???

Mac SE/30 - maxed it out at 40 megs of RAM (if I remember correctly, it might have been 32 megs). Had a SCSI drive in it, was a great machine for what it was.

The SE/30 is generally considered to be one of the best Macs ever made.
