"That" is superfluous in that sentence.  It's not a grammatical requirement.  Consider the following:

"He realizes he left something behind."

"He realizes that he left something behind."

Either is correct.  Many English teachers will actually tell you to drop the "that" because it's unnecessary and the first sentence flows better.

If there's a grammatical quibble, I could have made it clearer by adding a comma after "realizes", making the it look like this:

::realizes, in true Southern tradition, a damn is not given.::

I can definitely see the difference in screen  quality between my mom's MacBook and my PowerBook. There's a difference in hue between the top and bottom of the screen. Bear in mind that the iMac's screen is a 20", as opposed to the MacBook's 13.3". That means the angle of view is quite a but bigger on the iMac.

Haven't examined the 20" iMac screen long enough yet to comment on its quality, though.
