Just goes to show ya it's not who ya know, it's who ya blow.
Sounds like somewhat humbler beginnings than U.S. Presidential candidate.
Torquemada, expelled all the jews, burned all the non catholic books and tortured and killed heretics. Huckabee expelled who, burned what and tortured and killed who?
The only thing that the two might have in common might be a mediocre service as monk and that he was close to Bush. Clearly, i can see the resemblence, It's' like they're dopplegangers.

I'm sure Huckabee would be into plenty of expelling, torturing and killing, given the chance. Fortunately there's not nearly as much opportunity for that in 21st Century America as there was in 16th Century Spain.

You can thank the First Amendment for that.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Doesn't the First Commandment say something quite different?
Some subjects actually enjoy pain, and withhold information they might otherwise have divulged in order to be punished.

The First Amendment trumped the First Commandment. That's what is so good about it.

"God" must be miffed. Ah well. His people could always repeal it.

Yeah, well, if he don't like it he can come down here and tell us himself.

Oh, well, he's on his way. Just ask anyone who believes in Him. He'll be here any day, too. Just you wait. Any time in the next couple of thousand years He'll be right here and then you sinners will all get yours, yes, sir!

That's one view. The other is that zealots in political power must prepare the way-- we're too wicked for armageddon.
