Posting stats to duplicate account

Hey y'all!

After a brief hiatus, I've been able to add a few CPUs. Problem is, they seem to be posting to a duplicate account.

Both are listed as "dnewman". How do I get my points to post to the older account?

Well, I've only verified this happening on one (Intel iMac, GUI). Let me check the one new G4 and see where it's posting.....

Yeah, it's posting to the new account as well. I've got three XP boxes at work. I'll take a look at them tomorrow.

Thanks, Nefarious!

Re: Posting stats to duplicate account

Here's my guess

In the "client.cfg" file, there is an invisible character on one of the machines.  Probably one of the new machines.

I would edit that file with a text editor  (not a word processor).   Text Edit would be good.   I would erase the "dnewman" and retype it carefully.

Check all your machines for time and point size of proteins as they come in.  I'm confident we can find which machine it is.  If the problem is about spelling.

---------

OR ---- one of the old machines has a bad spelling.

--------

OR ---- its not your fault at all.  The problem could lie with  Stanford.

Possible reason is that they may have used a different e-mail address on the two accounts. The stats will not show the @someisp.whatever part of the username. But, if they are different, the stats will treat them as different accounts.

Re: Posting stats to duplicate account

Both my Macs at home have the correct user name, yet are posting to the new account.

Any idea where to find the client.cfg file on a Windows machine?

Hmmm. I don't recall having to enter an email address in any of these new installs.confused It's sure not in the .cfg file. I'll look in the oldest machine and see if it's there tomorrow.

Re: Posting stats to duplicate account

I think the domain tag is the key. When I do a search with the user name plus my old  email domain I can pull up the older stats.smile

Just need the change all the .cfg files to match, I guess.

At work, next day: The oldest machine does, in fact, incorporate my old domain in the user name. blush
I changed all config files to match and all is golden.big_smile
