Installing 10.4 Server...

So my boss wants me to install 10.4 Server on one of our XServes.  Cool.  Only problem is that I can't select ANY volumes to install it to!  There are NO drives listed under the menu to select a drive, and Disk Utility is the same way.  It only shows the DVD drive.  When I restart without the damn disk, it shows all the drives in Disk Utility.  What do I need to do?
