Re: Complaints/bugs about the forum design? Post 'em here
Ok, sorry.
IMHO, The people in charge DO NOT smurfing CARE. I could be wrong. I don't think I am, but I could be.
This thread was started a year ago. In the MacAddict/GUI days, things got fixed in a matter of a few days.

Oh, where were we? Ah, yes, the Forum page titles ... sorry, but I got distracted. Y'see, there really is more to life that 12 to 15 hour days nursing servers 'n' PunBB code.
As far as I'm concerned, the utter lack of attention paid to this board has become a joke at this point....but c'mon Rik, there's a huge difference between "12 to 15 hour days" and putting in a couple of minutes a year.
The whole 'more to life' line is a bit insulting in view of that enormous gap.You really missed the entire point of his post.
Well by all means, explain to me what I missed.
*edit*
Also, you need to chill out a bit. If you'll notice, many of the concerns being raised in this thread are by current or former mods who have dedicated a lot of their time to this place.

First of all, please stop with the psychoanalyzing me. I am perfectly chill. If you read my emotional state based on plain text it is probably your own emotions that are being reflected to you. I do not get emotionally involved in my conversations with people in forums. I am here to have a discussion, plain and simple.
Now, what did you miss? Rik was responding to another poster that was giving an example of a friend that worked 12-15 hour days all the time due to cut backs in number of employees, etc. He was simply pointing out that there is more to life than working that long, a point I wholeheartedly agree with. In my opinion if you are working that many hours then you won't have a life aside from work.
Rik was pointing out how thin they are stretched at Future. The bottom line is that everyone here has no idea what the workload is of the employees at Future. We have no idea how many sites, how many servers, how much code they are responsible for. We also don't know how many employees there are or how much work each of them has.
These are human beings we're talking about and without any knowledge about them you and others are making disparaging remarks. And then when I try to defend them I am attacked. What kind of people are you? Do you have no compassion for other human beings?

Yes, you sound completely calm. I'm say it again: "Chill." That's not a request.

How would you know what we do or don't know about the magazine people? The moderators have been in contact with them.
And then when I try to defend them I am attacked. What kind of people are you? Do you have no compassion for other human beings?

Yes, clearly I have "no compassion for other human beings" because I find it bizarre that no changes have been made to the board in over a year.

I'm going to close this thread, because there's no point in the debate getting this heated. Complaints and bugs have been posted, but by this point it's pretty clear that there aren't going to be any changes made, and no amount of invective here will change that.
