my network is WHOAA
Bizarre situation don't know how often it happens.
I am the only mac on a PC network, (3 PC one linux) and I was previously ablle to connect to the local network. The printer is connected to that network and I cannot connect to the network and consequentially the printer. I was able to connect to this network before and print, but suddenly it won't connect to the network. But the strangest thing about it is I still have internet, even though it is through the local network.
I have reconfigured my internet many time in hopes it would fix it.. NO
I restarted the Router and Modem NO LUCK
I configured the router's setting Still Nothing
I have restarted my iMac G5 with iSight to no avail
any ideas?

it's probably important to add I can't get to the Shared area in the finder sidebar. I used to and when I click the network button under "Go" it gives me a blank screen

Try this:
Turn everything off, and unplug your modem's power cable and router's power cable.
Plug in your modem and make sure it's on. Wait a minute.
Plug in your router and make sure it's on. Wait a minute.
Turn on your Mac.

no dice, my computer still won't find the shared folders

That I can. I just can't connect to the windows network. all other window computers can connect and a linux one too.

hmm, I still can't connect to the windows network. but now I can connect to the printer through the linux computer. I still cannot see any shared folders. and when I try to print something it fails

fixed it!
all it required was that I reconfigure every computer's network connection
I hope I never have to do that again
