Not getting new WUs

For some reason, I haven't received a new WU on my G4 for a couple days. I keep getting assigned to server 0.0.0.0. I am accepting large units without deadlines so I don't think it's the settings...

I just checked my Activity Monitor and saw both cpu's going full out again, after being  normal usage for the past at least 2 days. That is when I came to check out this forum, and see if anyone else noticed this happening. I had rebooted the other day thinking folding would start back up, but it didn't. It is back up and working for me now. Maybe you will be up soon too.

Re: Not getting new WUs

There are no WU's available for PPC at the moment.   Nothing is wrong with your setup.

Re: Not getting new WUs

Got one overnight.

My Intel iMac has gone 12 hours without a WU.(sigh) Guess I should just be patient and find more productive thing to worry about.

Re: Not getting new WUs

The intel iMac probably needs a re-install of Folding.

From now on, use the regular download from Folding, not our QuickFold installer.

---------------

if you're not sure,

1. go to Home / Library.    Make a duplicate of folding@home folder and fah1 or whatever it is.
2. To see if there is an autoactivate of any kind in "crontabs", then do this.  In terminal, type this
crontab   -l
3.  If you see a long line about  "@reboot   cd .......    fah6  blah blah ", then in terminal, do this to backup and then remove the entire crontab
crontab  -l  >~backupcrontab.txt
crontab -r
4. Quit Terminal
5. Download and install from http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Download
