Entourage:access denied
I'm running Entourage 2004 and it's been running fine. Suddenly, I'm now getting this error code when I try and send emails, but I am receiving emails just fine.
5.7.1 Access denied
I have a .mac email and I checked the mac site and the email service is up and running fine.
Any advice??
thanks!

Re: Entourage:access denied
Check with your ISP and see if they've started blocking port 25. It's a common, yet not very effective anti-spam measure.
If that's the case, you'll need to use your ISPs mail servers for outgoing mail, but no recipient will ever know the difference. Your reply-to address will remain the same.

Re: Entourage:access denied
... or you could configure the .Mac "SMTP" (outgoing) connection to use the alternate port 587 instead of 25 in Entourage. For some reason, search isn't giving me results right now on Apple's site, so I can't find the note, but I had to change the port a couple of years ago for the same reason. I don't believe you need to change anything else (i.e., "smtp.mac.com" is still the server name, etc.), so try just changing the port to see if that helps.
