It can't. Sorry to say it, as it doesn't reflect too brilliantly on myself, either, but alcohol doesn't change people, it removes inhibition. In other words: it can bring facets of our personalities to the surface that we normally suppress.
Your Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde analogy may have been a lot more apt than intended.
