Re: GH III Wii Disc Exchange

ta da!

my replacement disc showed up today... only took a little less than a week.

i can confirm the sound is fixed and is phenomenal. well worth the wait, although it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

quick question, though, and this is for anyone who still may have an old copy, un-remastered copy: did the game always play in full 16x9? or were there the black bars on the sides?

suck it, trebek.

Re: GH III Wii Disc Exchange

There were small black bars on the sides.  Some games do this, some don't.

Re: GH III Wii Disc Exchange

Mine fills the screen. 16:9. I have a 480p plasma, and the "flawed" version of GH3.

Re: GH III Wii Disc Exchange

It might vary based on one's TV settings.

I thought GH3 had bars at the side.  MP3 does, as do a few others.  Maybe it didn't after all and I'm just adding them in my memories.

Re: GH III Wii Disc Exchange

in perhaps the final FINAL step in the process, i received, via FedEx, a packahe today from Red Octane.

inside was a really quite nice fancy faceplate to change out the old white one on my Wii Plastic Guitar. there was also a little postcard in the box...

Dear Valued Activision/RedOctane Customer,

you recently received a Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock Wii replacement disc. To show our appreciation for your patience during the re-mastering phase of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the Wii, enclosed is a complementary Guitar Hero faceplate from Activision/RedOctane.

If you have any questions or need any additional support regarding the re-mastered Wii disc, please don't hesitate to contact Activision Customer Support at www.activision.com/support. Once again, thank you for supporting Guitar Hero.

Sincerely,

Activision/RedOctane

all very nice, especially considering the craptastic port of Rock Band that Harmonix is sending the Wii's way this upcoming summer.

Re: GH III Wii Disc Exchange

I got that too.  I'm probably going to head out and buy a second guitar just to put this faceplate on.  My original guitar is covered in stickers, and looks pretty schweet.
