Accidentally Deleted Web folder on .Mac account

Whoops - I deleted the Web folder on my .mac account and I can't get it back. I try to simply add a folder and rename it, but I get an error msg saying I don't have sufficient access privileges to rename the folder. Any ideas?

Make it on your desktop and upload it, maybe? Just a guess. I don't use .Mac.

How are you gaining access to your iDisk might have an effect on it. Are you connecting to by clicking iDisk under the devices sidebar (Leopard), or using mac.com?

Re: Accidentally Deleted Web folder on .Mac account

what web folder? the sites folder? in order to do that you would have had to enter your password...

if you did that, then you need to get info on your idisk and change the privs to read/write and make a folder named "Sites" (minus quotes of course) on the main window.

i'm not even sure that will work though, are sure you deleted it completely, and not just from your local copy?

if you removed it from your local copy, you could always try re creating it. to do this, go to the .mac prefpane and click the idisk tab. uncheck the box that says "create a local copy of your idisk" and close system prefs(or switch to a different prefpane). this will remove the local mirror. to re create it , just re enable the checkbox from the .mac prefpane. it takes quite a while to make a local copy, so try the other method first.

The Web folder can only be created by iWeb.  Make a new site with iWeb and then publish it (or just republish a site you have already) and it'll come right back.
