Aviary, web based creative editors

http://a.viary.com

you all think this will cause people to not try to jack Adobe CS and other types of creative/work suites?

It looks pretty decent. I mean, I signed up for it to test it out when it drops.

Interesting. Signed up.

Did you notice this? It's the only non-clickcable "bird".

It IS there. It's part of the background, it loads before anything else. Go check.

No, not at all.

Re: Aviary, web based creative editors

I'm in! big_smile

I got only Image Editor and pattern maker. Maybe because I said I was more interested in image editing, but I'd like to use al the tools...

Played with this image:

Made this:

The pattern maker is confusing. That mean's I didn't get it on the first try.

Re: Aviary, web based creative editors

I tried it out too today, I don't think I was all that impressed. It was too slow and clunky. I think I'd log on and use it though if I was on someone elses computer or a public machine that didn't have photoshop and I desperately had to make an LOLCat image.

Nothing serious though.

Re: Aviary, web based creative editors

I was perplexed by their inclusion of a "web safe" filter in the initial trial release.
Seriously, does anyone at all worry about that anymore?
I thought concerns about that went away when everyone had screens that could show more than 256 colors.

Re: Aviary, web based creative editors

I have Photoshop CS (CS 1, not 2 and not 3) It works fine in my Intel mini. So that's what I'm gonna keep using. But I still think this is cool.

I agree about the "web safe" filter. Does CS3 still have that?

This is cool. You can upload images from an URL.
