I've found some posts that almost answer this question, but I'm still not quite there.

Basically, my wife and I both use Macbooks, so we don't have a ton of HD space.  We want to set up an external drive to our Airport Extreme to share our iPhoto images and our iTunes library.

I have an external HD plugged in now, but every time one of us updates our library, the other doesn't see the new files.  We haven't tried iPhoto sharing yet.

How do we get this to sync ?  Do we need to buy a special drive?  We're both a little (a lot!) clueless about this sort of thing, so I figured I would ask around.
