how can I put my contacts right on the iPhone's home screen?
Is this something only the touch can do, or can I put my contacts right with my other shortcuts on the home screen?
I hate having to go into the phone screen to select favorites when I want to text someone.

double click the home button takes you straight to favorites. Does that help?

update to the latest version (iphone and itunes)
you should be able to click an icon on the iphone and don't lift your finger till they turn "wiggly" .. you will then be able to move the icon around ... click the home button to get out of the wiggles.

mrreet- I have the latest update. It's not one of the icons that comes on the iphone, so I can't move it around. I saw it on someone's itouch and was wondering if there was a way to get it on the iphone.

I know exactly what he's talking about.
It's third-party app called Contacts.
Third-party, as in you'll need to jailbreak your iPhone to install it, either via sftp (OpenSSH), or installer.app, both of which also require jailbreaking.

There's a web app for the iPhone called iTouch that allows you to put your contacts on your home screen as icons.

He wants to put an individual contact on the screen, not move the phone icon around.
