You might should also check your crontab if you have ever used another installer. Post the ouput from this command:

It looks like I don't have one:

Code:

crontab: no crontab for "user"

I just wanted to make sure that you didn't have an old installation of f@h that was conflicting with a newer one.

Re: The MacMenace thread

I've noticed that lately only four Fahcore.exes have appeared in my activity monitor, which is a good sign as opposed to eight. Also, I'm now on the team page: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai … =Macmenace

Do you think the problem has solved itself?

Bat out of hell ------  MacMenace's machine is really cranking.   Officially, over 1000 points per day, but more likely a solid 1500.   After another week, we'll have a better statistical base.

I was on the Windows side downloading some steam games. And, finishing up some homework in Visual Studio. But, I'm back on the Mac side now and about 40% done my latest WU. big_smile

Ok, I'm back on the charts. I do have one question. Why do I have so little WUs compared to the other people ranked similar to me me on our team?

Re: The MacMenace thread

The Intel Macs get the big point proteins.   So, for one computer, your machine is quite point-efficient.

Most of the top team members have multiple computers.   Belloq has had over 50 computers folding and has been folding for several years.   Otsep has more computers and has been folding for less than a year.   In the past year or so, there are bigger and bigger proteins to crunch.

I now have 3 CPU's working.

Finally, some of the points were adjusted a few years ago, but not for past proteins.

To sum up, there's no one reason.

Re: The MacMenace thread

Oh ok. That makes sense. I thought all proteins were weighted equally.

I think I may have a new problem. I've been stuck on one WU for a day or so now at 100%.

Is that what they call it now... you're both menaces, downloading steamy games and defaming innocent nocturnal flyers. I bet that soon that Cern accelerator folds space around both your proteins and you up and vanish. This latest is just the beginning. They're setting you up the bomb.

Hmmph.

Check your FAHlog.txt at the very end  [  Home / Library / Folding@Home / FAHlog.txt.

Make sure that the WU has been sent.  OPTION A)  If not sent, post back and we can wake up Stanford University at the main support forum.

OPTION B) If the WU has been sent, then do this

Shut down folding in System Preferences  (optional, but recommended)
Delete the entire Folding@Home folder  (or just rename it).
Re-download and re-install Folding

Let us know which one it is.

Re: The MacMenace thread

Wow, Bat I knew the cern accelerator was a bad idea. wink

Anyway, I checked the end of my FAHlog.txt and it appears my problem is option A:

Code:

[17:21:06] Preparing to commence simulation
[17:21:06] - Ensuring status. Please wait.

What should I do now?

It looks like the WU finally sent. So, I guess the problem fixed itself. I wonder why it took 2 days to send?

Re: The MacMenace thread

I'm going to guess that it was Stanford's servers.   There's a forum section just for server issues at the main support forum.

Back on track !

So, are you going to be able to top my point average ?   I'm consistently over 2500 points per day now.
