Printer Cannot Connect in Windows

I've installed a Xerox Phaser laser printer driver that the Mac side sees just fine, but Windows running inside Parallels cannot.  Parallels successfully found the HP inkjet without me doing anything, it not the Xerox.  I've tried installing the printer driver thru Windows' Control Panel, but it can't seem to find the virtual USB ports I've tried pointing it to.  And I don't know the path directly to the port on the Mac side.  I also have inadvertantly deleted the generic apple printer driver that may be necessary to make all this work.

Any ideas how I can resolve this?  I'm a very experienced Windows user but a Mac newbie.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Printer Cannot Connect in Windows

After a crash course in Parallels, (tyvm Google) it looks like Parallels has frequent problems with printers and USB devices in general.

Directions here instruct how to set up a printer on the Mac side, then share it with the Windows side. Use the appropriate Xerox driver if you can.
