Re: Kids!

What I hate is when I'm talking to someone in meat life, telling them a story or something, and they say "LOL".

STFU - no - if you were really laughing out loud, I would be hearing laughter, not two letters of the alphabet.

Re: Kids!

I text in full sentences... it's what comes with having a full QWERTY keyboard (first an enV on Verizon, now the iPhone). When it comes to iChat, I don't use LOL. Ever. If I'm in a hurry, I'll use b/c (because) and BRB (be right back) but that's about it.

I would NEVER think of using text-speak on a paper or other graded/evaluated assignment! These kids are nuts.

Re: Kids!

I have joined a magic forum and there are lots of teens there.  The older people refuse to replay to the teens who use this new abbreviated language.  I have to admit it is rather annoying if you don't understand "text"  It takes twice as long to read and even then I'm not sure I fully grasp what they want.  Yes this a rather annoying problem.

I think this thread has gotten off track from it's original intent, and that is about how much we hate kids.

GAH! That's my new favorite. I think "wut" should be first in the dictionary of words that make you sound like a total idiot.

I also didn't use a period, therefore it isn't a proper sentence either.
