To iPod, or not to iPod... that is the question
I'm in a good mood right now
This morning (1 AM to 5 AM) my school hosted this huge party known ad "After Prom Bash" at the local rec. center. Anyway, it's kind of a saying goodbye party to all the seniors, and also a way of keeping people from having sex and doing drugs, and I have to admit, it works really well.
Anyway, they were giving away lots of prizes (PS3, iPods, XBox 360, fridges, etc.) by raffle ticks which could be won by playing casino games. Anyway, I played a whole bunch of blackjack, and thanks to my amazing card counting skills (the dealer's wonderful generosity) I had a bunch of raffle tickets, which I spread around to a bunch of prizes....
AND I WON AN IPOD NANO!!!! WHOOOOO!!!!!
This is great, but it leaves me w/a problem. I already have an iPod Shuffle, so and iPod Nano wouldn't suit my purposes completely well. So, instead, what I want to do is exchange my iPod Nano for an iPod classic 80 GB (and pay the difference).
The only problem is that I've read quite a few reviews saying that the iPod Classic is slow/sluggish, and in general sucky. That, coupled with the fact that macrumors says I shouldn't buy, makes me lean towards getting the iPod Classic, but not opening it and waiting for the iPod to be updated.
I will however want to use my iPod on June 24th for my flight to Germany.
So, is it worth it for me to wait and see (wouldn't a new iPod come out w/a 3G iPhone?), and hopefully get a really beast and sexy new iPod?
Or should I just get the iPod classic, use it, and be happy?
Oohhhh the age old question of to buy or not to buy.

Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it's right. Just because something is illegal, doesn't mean it's wrong.

Personally, no matter what, I think you can't go wrong. AFAIK, all skipping/stu-stu-stuttering issues have been fixed (mostly) with the Classic. The nanos are great because they are so compact and nice, video is great on either, but storage is the only issue I could see.
As far as new ones, don't count on any new iPods (minus Touch) until September/October. The Touch, however, might see sooner updates.
If your close to an Apple Store, go in and try each out for a while.

Re: To iPod, or not to iPod... that is the question
How much music do you have? If you need more than what your nano provides, then I would say yes, get the classic. I have used one several times and apart from the slightly sluggish coverflow (who uses that anyway) it is a very solid player.
If you don't have so much music I don't see any reason not to keep the nano; it has all the same features as the Classic anyway, and would probably suit you better thanks to it's smaller size (I assume size would be part of your decision due to you already owning a shuffle)
