It's been an interesting six years for me. Thanks to everyone who's answered my tech questions.

Wow, 9 years is FOREVER in internet-years. This was my first real forum I signed up to, about 7 years ago; must have been 15 back then, just finished my freshmen year in high school.

First forum too, but MAN do I miss the OLD MAF.

Not that, no. But there was a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that seemed to have disappeared lately.

Re: Happy 9th anniversary, Forums!
A little more fun would be nice. It is difficult to joke without offending someone. Heck it's even difficult to help someone without causing offense.
My hope is that all the forum members would assume "no malice intended" when reading the replies. Few of us are professional joke writers. None are comedians (I think). But many of us enjoy a quip or allusion to movies, books, TV shows, and so on.
I suppose heavier usage of Maxes might help. I wish that everyone could just take things less personally.

That is a variation of a joke from "The Man with Two Brains" Directed by Carl Reiner, and starring Steve Martin and Kathleen Turner.
Dr Hufhahrr is pulled over by the local Polizei.
Policeman: Have you been drinking?
Dr Hufhahrr: No, I dron't dink.
Policeman: Get out of the car.
