As a vet: I would rather not be honored on this day. November is preferable wink

Re: Thanks, Vets!

As a Marine: this holiday still feels kinda weird, since I haven't really done anything yet, but people thank me anyway. Well, chances are I'll get deployed in the next couple years anyway (let's invade the Bahamas, that would be a nice change of pace, wouldn't it?) so eventually the thanks will be warrented. Strange that I'll be in the Marine Corps almost an entire year before even getting to the fleet.

Back on track, I'm currently at NAS Pensacola (Florida) and they're good at showing their appreciation, especially since it's also simultaniously gay pride weekend. Go figure.

I am with Geesie on this one.

Around the last week of October, I'll send you a Poppy from the Legion, Geesie. smile

Re: Thanks, Vets!

Out of curiosity, why would November be preferable?

Re: Thanks, Vets!

Unfortunately (fortunately?) I can identify with both holidays as I actually died once before I was recesitated in mid-air over the Atlantic from Germany to Bethesda, MD.

Nice! I ran my first marathon at NAS Pensacola.
On a second note, I don't want to hear any complaining until you've spent a few years in San Francisco lol

And you're welcome big_smile

Re: Thanks, Vets!

If you are thanking me on Memorial Day, and I'm around to take it, I'd better check to see if I can walk through walls.
