Transferring files from a PC

I have some music files (large music files, FLAC) that I want to move from my computer at work to my mac. At work, I have no cd burner and the files are too big to email. I have no online hard drive (like .mac) and I was thinking of transferring them to my mac if I could remotely access it from my PC computer at work?

Is it possible to remotely access a mac from a PC?  If so, how does one do this and what would I need?  My work computer runs on Windows 2000; my mac uses the latest version of Tiger.  I figured this was would be easier than trying to access my work computer, as I would probably need some kind of authorization I don't have.  Many thanks in advance.

Yeah, sure, it's possible - but... thumb drive?

Yes, I know, but, I guess I forgot to mention it, I want to learn how to do this.  How would one go about doing it in the method I described?  Thanks.

Re: Transferring files from a PC

set up sharing on your mac
(I would reconmend "sharepoints" look it up on versiontracker.com)
(make sure you share via 'smb')

... open the ports on your router ...
445 or 139 or both.

find your real world IP and go to your PC and type \\yourip\ into a windows explorer location bar. It should ask you for a user name and password

remember this is very insecure

Re: Transferring files from a PC

Are both computers co-located, or are you trying to connect over the internet? That's what it sounds like. I would recommend VNC. But to do so you need the IP address of your mack and you need VNC software on both computers.
