Study Music?
I must say, I love iTunes. I can get almost anything I want at a good price whenever I want it. I do have to watch myself sometimes--I spent $81 at the iTMS in one day once--but at least iTunes don't wear out like tapes used to!
iTunes has also let me buy some great music to study to. My personal favorite is "Trilogy" by ATB--the two-disc album that has a second disc of instrumental trance. It's smooth, ambient music--not the "boom boom" stuff you hear in clubs--think neo-classical in style--and I find it relaxes me and makes my mind work hard. (I also have a ton of classical on there--I bought the Fantasia 2000 soundtrack last month and it's been my second favorite study album lately). I should also mention that the first CD of the Trilogy set is more uptempo and is German Europop by any other name (with English lyrics). Good for driving and the gym...still using the iPod mini I bought before my freshman year on the run.
What do you folks like to listen to when you study?

I am a big fan of Brain Sync's "High Focus." I throw on my noise canceling headphones and run the 2 song files they have and I can sit and study for hours. Check 'em out: http://www.brainsync.com/
Other than that, I'll listen to Bach or Thomas Tallis' "Spem in Alium." Any current music just distracts me too much, especially if there are vocals.

i also love i tunes.. its the only way i can transfer music to my ipod.. i download videos and music from i tunes.. i always browse stuff from there..

I love listening to trance or ambient music while studying too. I use di.fm a lot instead of itunes though because a) its free and b) it introduces me to new music I might not check out under normal circumstances
...but hey, what do I know

Yeah my favorite is ambient music while studying. It really helps me get into the zone.

I've found that the Lord of the Rings soundtracks and the Carmina Burana are both oddly conducive to writing papers and reading. I can only listen to music with lyrics I can't understand or don't know very well when studying; otherwise, it's just too distracting.

It's all instrumentals. "Soundtracks to daydreams" is really the most accurate description of the music I've heard. I love it.
