Did you know there's a Mac|Life magazine? We're not just forums, apparently!

I dunno. 56 pages seems like a lot, or at least comparable to other magazines out there. That's more than half, if we're looking at the same issue. Try counting content pages in one of those chick magazines...sheesh. There's a couple hundred pages straight from the forest and right to the trash.

Heck, I remember when MAD magazine was ad-free.

Yep, magazines used to be quite thick, indeed.  I used to have a copy of PC magazine from the mid 80's -- It was a good two inches thick.  I have a comparably thick Computer shopper from the mid-90's (I think it slimmed down relatively recently).

I gotta say, it's hard to keep up with online content. It's stuff that is generally free, immediately up-to-date, and interactive.

I don't see why there isn't an option to subscribe to an online-only version of your favorite magazines.  What with all the "green" going around and all it would save some trees.

I have an issue of MacWorld from 1989. It has the Macintosh SE/30 on the cover. It's a half an inch thick, thicker paper cover, a bit bigger and much more retro. Shame all magazines have shrunk over the years.

Though... what's a magazine anymore? This is the internet age!

What was the problem?  Not that I doubt you, I only used it a couple of times.  But it seemed functional.  Was the subscription service b0rked?

We've been getting a magazine for the digital print industry via e-mail that actually has a click on the page interface to graphically turn the page.

Nice - mind quoting some prices of machines on there?  I found an old MacWorld at our camp and I was blown away by how much the Macs and the RAM cost.  Unfortunately my mom threw it away.

I stopped buying magazines years ago. They're a total waste of money today. The internet is WAY a head of them in the latest info. Save your money and stop buying magazines.

I agree, print media is going down the toilet but I would take an issue of MacLife over MacWorld any day.
