why is my airport single worse with OSX
I own a Macbook laptop and TBH I use it much more on the windows side then on the OSX side. (I should have probably bought a pc, but I'm a mac addict)
When I'm on windows (XP pro) I never have connection problems, but when I log to OSX I often lose the single via airport. Its weird since I still see other airports network, but my own network simply often drops on and off.
When that happens sometimes turning airport off and on fix it. Other times I need to restart.
Suggestions?
Am running OSX 10.5.2 and am just now busy software upgrading ..

Try updating to 10.5.3. It's supposed to improve 802.1X behavior and reliability.

well, like I said I was busy software updating and am now on 10.5.3 hope it will work better.

You have both a Windows PC and a Mac connected to your AirPort? You might give Wizmo (freeware) a try, specifically the wanlock option. What Windows machines do is every 10 minutes or so they will search for a faster connection. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that this may be the reason why folks have some wireless problems in mixed environments with Windows PCs and Macs. Invoking the wanlock option with Wizmo will stop this behavior for Windows computers.

no, I have one macboook. 90% of the times I'm using it running windows vie boothcamp, and there were never real problem with the connection dropping.
However when on osx, I sometimes lose connection with my network.
I don't think its the airport issue per say as it still sees other networks when it loses connection with mine.
Can osx wireless connection be weaker then XP's?

well, upgrading to 10.5.3 really didn't help.
I was slightly wrong, when it starts to happen (the airport single grays outs and then start going on and off for a while) its says scanning for networks and sometimes I still see my network in the list of available networks.
Help please.

Airport Utility update today. Try it. May or may not help, certainly couldn't hurt.
Oh yeah repair permissions aft you install it.

That update fixed my printer problems! 
MacBook Pro 15.4"

Things are not looking better.
I run software update few times and it seems like my computer is up to date.
It happens about 3-4 times a day. The Airport icon goes gray, and usually when you click on it it will be 'stuck' on scanning, sometimes showing all network in range (including y own) and sometimes showing none. It will then go off/on few times until it fixes it self
This usually last a couple of minutes.
You might think its not a big deal, losing connection for a few minutes a couple of times again, but I play poker online, and its a very big deal when I lose connection in the middle of a session (and even worse when it happens in the middle of a 'big' hand)
More info : never had problems with my old Ibook.
When I used this mac running window I never had problems at all (which suggest the hardware is ok)
Any suggestions are welcome.
p.s am going to a family visit in a week and I'll see if it behaves better there.
