AOL was a great BBS. They got the bad rep when they started being an internet gateway and flooded the net with a bunch of noobs.
Well, I was one of them....

AOL brought the internet to the masses - just like gateway and compaq brought PCs to the masses.
What got AOL a bad rap IMHO was their constant snail mail spamming of disks and CDs combined with their reluctance to let you cancel the free trials.

Reluctance. *snort*
The difficulties in canceling AOL to move to the new fangled high speed internet (dating myself here) is why I will never use an AOL product again.
Reluctance. There's an understatement.

Good thing there are right-minded individuals on these social networking sites, with whom we may strategize and share knowledge.
Resedit knows what time it is!
So does User. Me and User are gonna join that dude's YouTube group. It's a start, ya know? Just one small step in the right direction. Soon there will be a million of us, and our voices will be impossible to....

Actually, I prefer to be called a Crackpot, and don't anticipate earning the label of old crank before I'm 50. Furthermore, I'm like Herpes or a tattoo in that I never wear off.

Wait a minute, y'all's misquoting me! I didn't say nothin' 'bout User's age. Shoot, if I woulda known that, I wouldna been talkin' to User at all! I only communicate on the Internet with individuals who are less than fifteen years old. At least MySpace is useful in that respect. Any older than fifteen? They start axing all kindsa difficult questions...

Speaking from the benefit of many decades, which I share with user, no.
Your only choices are buck naked, or in the girl scout uniform.
