Recommend Gaming Mouse

The title says it; what do you guys like? Right now I'm using a Mighty Mouse but horizontal scrolling doesn't work in Boot Camp and I'm forever accidentally activating the squeeze "button". I have a trackball that I use for non-gaming apps so the mouse would be for games exclusively.

Re: Recommend Gaming Mouse

This comes to mind because it doesnt require the use of a USB port tongue

Yeah the MM is not too good for games. It's too easy for a right-click to turn into a left-click instead when you're moving fast. I've been using an MX 518 Logitech for games under Boot Camp.

You'll need USB Overdrive to configure the buttons for OS X games, though. The Logitech control panel is Win only.

Ya I love my 518. Plenty of buttons and I can change the mouse speed on the fly.

Depending on budget, 518 or the newer G5 that has the two side buttons of the 518 (the original only had one). G5 is more precise, has customizable weights. Have owned/used both.

I game with a trackball, either a M$ Trackball optical on the iMac or a Logitech Trackman Wheel on the PC.

iMac C2D, 2.0 GHz, OS X 10.5.5, 2.5 GB Ram.

Re: Recommend Gaming Mouse

Mighty Mouse is useless for UT.  You can't do rocket spirals!

I use a Logitech LX3.  It the last one I could find with a cord because I hate having to search for batteries when I'm on a winning streak.  Works great for me, ~$30.

Re: Recommend Gaming Mouse

Thanks for your advice. I just bought a G5 and so far I'm liking it.
