Re: Airport Extreme failure

I would take something that can press the "reset" button (such as a paperclip or sharpened pencil point) on the back of the Airport Extreme and use that to press (and hold) the reset button for about 10 to 15 seconds.  That should reset the Airport Extreme.  Failing that, you might try taking it in to the Apple Store.  I'm not sure what type of warranty the Airport has, but its worth a try.

Re: Airport Extreme failure

In SYSTEM PREFERENCES, under the NETWORK panel, there will be an "Assist Me" or "Network Diagnostics".   Try opening that.  Sometimes, just merely opening the Network Diagnostics will solve the problem.

Re: Airport Extreme failure

About one a month I have a similar problem. I turn off the modem, airport and computer. Then turn them on starting with the modem, let it boot up completely, then the airport, let it boot up completely then the computer. Each takes at least 30 seconds. Sometimes I just walk away from it for 1/2 hour and when I come back all is good.
