Flying - laptop in suitcase?
Hi ,
Tomorrow I fly to a long family visit and will be taking my laptop with me. My laptop screen is broken, but the computer is in perfect order. Am using it with external monitor at the moment, but am planning to replace the screen my self.
I want to send my laptop in my suitcase, as I'm traveling with a 3 year old. Is it safe to send it in the suitcase? I figure since the screen is already broken not much wrong can happen to it, right?
Thanks
Danny

Re: Flying - laptop in suitcase?
I don't know how well they treat checked luggage during load and unload.
I imagine it's fairly secure once it's stowed aboard, as they probably don't want anything moving around uncontrolled inside the plane during flight, but I wouldn't trust them to be particularly gentle when they're sorting it all before and after the flight. All that possible jarring is no good for a laptop, or any consumer electronic, for that matter, screen or no.

I agree with Antonio, besides, there seem to be more theft now that the luggage people x-ray everything..

Probably just as bad, as it has moving parts.
