Printing from 10.5 Preview - 2 pages per sheet, in landscape.

I'm hoping that this is a helpful post for anyone that was as ready to shoot their screen in frustration like I was about to...

Simple thing: I wanted to print out the Boot Camp installation instructions, but save some paper by printing 2 pages per sheet, in landscape mode so that the pages read from left to right - pg 1 to pg 2, pg 3 to pg 4, and so on...

Sounds easy enough, right?  So, I go to the print dialog and choose landscape page setup, 2 pages per sheet, with a hairline border, and: It shows up the way I want EXCEPT FOR ONE THING: The pages read from right to left!  It had printed pg2/pg1, pg4/pg3, etc...  confused

So for the next smurfing hour, I change everything from page orientation to scaling, reverse order printing to resolution: no dice, same result.  steamed

I'm about ready to whip the smurf outta somebody, and I stumbled across the "Apple way" by accident: DON'T CLICK LANDSCAPE... HUH?  eek

To sum up: the way to get 2 pages to print side-by-side in landscape is to go into the print dialog, go directly to layout and choose 2 pages per sheet.  Don't click landscape, and your Mac will figure it out on it's own...  shrug

Is it just me? Does this NOT make any sense to anyone else?  What if I wanted (for some strange reason) to print 2 pages side by side, but in PORTRAIT mode?  I'm not even going to try...

There it is.  I hope that this stops some poor soul from seppuku in the future.  cheers

Go ahead, push it, make my day...
