installing 10.4.8
I am currently running 10.3.9 on a 400 mhz G4 PPC and need to upgrade to 10.4.8 so I can upgrade Photoshop. For some reason it says that I can't install it on this machine. Supposedly 10.4.8 should install om a G4.
Any ideas?

You can get 10.4 from the used market. Put a "WANTED" ad on the computer section of Craigslist. Expect to pay $ 40-80.

I take it 10.4 was the first version of Leopard? And if that is the case, 10.5 is all that is available and that won't run on my 400mhz G4?
Just FYI:
10.4.x was Tiger.
10.5.x is Leopard.
10.6.x will be Snow Leopard.
If you do get a copy of 10.4.x (it doesn't matter what the 'x' is), then you can use the combo update to get that up to 10.4.11, the last version of Tiger. Yes, technically 10.4.8 should have been renumbered to 10.4.08, but Apple never did anything about this.
