13" MacBook - best bag / case ?

Any recommendations? I should have my new MacBook about a week from now.

I'd like something that will hold both my laptop and school books. Right now, I'm looking at MEC's selection (mec.ca)

I've had success with Swiss Gear's line. Are you planning to ride a bike to school?

In addition to just a case, I recommend getting a Speck case (http://www.speckproducts.com/). I bought one because, like you, I bring my laptop around everywhere in my backpack. I've found that, even with cushioning in a laptop sleeve, scratches and thumps are inevitable. The Speck case has shielded my laptop from countless scratches. Everytime I take it off to clean it, I look at how dirty and scratchy the shell is and thank the universe that it's not on my Mac.

Just my two cents,

Thanks for the input, guys! I actually ended up getting a bag and sleeve combination from MEC. Should be getting it within the week.

I disagree about the Speck cases.  I think they are overpriced and look like crap on your mac after a couple of weeks.  I had one on my MBP and it actually scratched the edges of the computer.  I prefer soft cases.  I bought an Isis Dei laptop sleeve a few weeks ago and have been pretty stoked on it (http://isisdei.com/list.php?class=all&item=gfmf).  It is memory foam and you can use your laptop while it is rest in the case.  I bought the Goldfish and although I don't think it necessarily a "luxury" sleeve like Isis Dei claims on its website, I love the case and am glad I tossed my Speck.

Ugh.  I think the Speck cases make your Macbook to heavy and keeps heat trapped in it.  I love my Neoprene Incase Sleeve though!  It's pretty thickly padded for a neoprene case and has saved my notebook from a few minor drops (like off a chair).  It also comes with a nice leather trim.

For my bag I'm using an STM Evolution.  It's kinda pricey, but it hides your laptop completey, which is kinda cool.  It also comes with an "umbrella" to keep it from getting wet.  Hope that helps!

I use a Tucano Second Skin sleeve, then slip that into an STM bag.
