AfterEffects on external drive
I have a 2.1 Ghz PowerPC G5 iMac. I use OS 10.5.4. Problem is I can't use my AfterEffects 5.5 since upgrading to 10.5., must buy AE 7 to work with 10.5
Can I get a external 750Gig or 1 Tb drive with Firewire, install the Mac 10.4 OS that came with my Imac, then install my AE 5.5. If I restart from my iMac internal drive
to the external with 10.4 & AE 5.5 will it work without being too slow or having any other problems. Thanks in advance for the help!

It should work fine ... I use an external for my mac mini as the boot HD works fine.
2.66Ghz QuadCore-Nehalem w/24"LED CD ---2.2Ghz BlackMB---15" 2.4Ghz MBP(work)
Dual 2.3Ghz G5 (4G Ram, 2x 250G HD)(10.5 server)--- 400Mhz G4 PM (10.4 Server)
1.5GHz Powerbook---1.6Ghz G5 iMac

Or you could save your pennies and get AE7 ... it blows AE5.5 out of the water plus you get all the cool Production Bundle stuff as standard now. It really is worth the upgrade from 5.5 which is what I upgraded from.
