Wireless Router
I recently purchased a Mac G4 Desktop with 10.4.11 operating system. I have wifi in my apartment complex that I access the internet on my laptop through. I would like to do the same with the desktop, but I know I need a wireless router. Does anyone know which routers will work with my particular system?
Thanks!

Re: Wireless Router
If it works with your laptop ... you just need a wireless card for your desktop.

Re: Wireless Router
Is a wireless card and USB? Which is better, wireless router or wireless card? Which of these would work best with my operating system?

Re: Wireless Router
A wireless router will generally do the exacted opposite of what you are trying to do.
What mac do you have? iMac? Powermac? What does it look like and what speed is it.

Re: Wireless Router
so that's circa 2001...It's got a slot for a built-in card, but that was long before the current AirPort Extreme cards went on the market. You could pick up an old card used, but they're ridiculously pricey. So your options now are either a wireless PCI card (be sure to check for Mac compatibility) or what is known as a wireless bridge. I'd probably go with the bridge. It basically picks up the wireless signal and spits it out on an ethernet cable. Your computer will think it's connected to a plain ol' wired network so Mac compatibility should not be an issue. They're commonly used for connecting XBox and PlayStation consoles to wireless networks so you could probly pick one up cheap.

nice post. i was just kidding, but ok. i did clarify, and yet you still don't get it. the link regarding you i am actually supporting you, but i suppose that is a mistake.
why do i need leopard? i like to use it, but my pb wifi is still out even after with every update and i'm very mobile so i must have wifi. why do you need it? no programs i know of are exclusively leopard.
i wasnt baiting you or anything, i definitely want to use leopard, but i cannot and i'm not going to solve all my problems by buying new apple stuff when they come out all the time like you.
i dont know wot the hell your problem is. i wasnt even poking. you're an idiot.
P.S. pls, make sense if you reply.
