Airport Extreme Issue
I recently moved and now have Comcast internet/phone/tv combo. I have a new modem that allows internet phone... My issue is that my Airport wireless does not work at all now. I can connect my computer directly to the modem with success. But when I connect my Airport to the modem and try to use wireless... I get nothing. I have tried multiple Airport configurations without success. The modem is an RCA modem that connects cable... to my internet and phone. My wireless worked just fine yesterday when I was in my old apartment... connect to a standard cable modem (no phone hookup).
Can someone help me solve this issue? Is it a modem compatibility problem?

Re: Airport Extreme Issue
Unplug the modem for about a minute. Plug it back in, let it's lights light and stabilize, and then plug in your Airport.
When you swap plugs in the modem it thinks you're trying to connect multiple computers to their network at the same time and they won't let you do that. You want the modem to see your Airport as the one computer connected and then you can connect any number of computers on the other side of the Airport.

Re: Airport Extreme Issue
Okay... so I had to figure things out on my own. Here is what I found. The RCA router will not recognize the Airport unless it is plugged in at the time of a reboot. So, you cannot just switch the Ethernet cable from the computer (when working well being connected to the router) and then change it to the Airport. This doesn't work because I guess the router will not recognize the switch and still thinks it is talking to the computer.
So the Airport should be plugged into the router. The Airport power cord is then unplugged and the router is rebooted. Once up, the Airport can then be plugged into the outlet and rebooted itself.
It worked fine after that.
