Lots of problems with iTunes 7.7 upgrade
A lot of folks are reporting problems after updating to 7.7 and unfortunately, I'm one of them. The main thing seems to be problems when you have your iPod or iPhone connected. Some get the Spinning Beachball of Patience for at least 2-3 minutes before the device shows up in iTunes, making the program unusable until it does. Others (and this would include me) never have the device show up and end up having to Force Quit iTunes to get out of it. If you eject the iPod/iPhone, then launch iTunes, it works fine. But if you then try to connect it, back to the beachball.
Some have reported that they lost some of their music or the library file got screwed up. I'm not seeing that.
Just thought I'd give a warning. I should have checked before upgrading but I was curious about the App Store and just did it. If you haven't upgraded yet and can hold off, wait for 7.7.1.
Now my question is, I have a back up of my drive from a few weeks ago that has 7.6.2 on it. How do I replace 7.7 with this old version? I tried just launching 7.6.2 but it doesn't like the upgraded library file. Is it as simple as replacing the library file from 7.6.2?
Microsoft Security Patch No. Infinitum arriving soon

Re: Lots of problems with iTunes 7.7 upgrade
I recently cleared all of caches using Cocktail when the new Forum software came online. Then I did the 7.7 update and that went well. Perhaps the 2 events are connected.

I did/do maintenance, but other than that, same as mrreet. The update when fine.
