One important thing to note is that these cuts also involved cuts to Tricare which is the health program to active duty military and retired personnel. It's stunning that he would try and cut Tricare funding during a war!

Cutting money from the doctors is not the right spot to trim the fat.
Or from the hospital or the pharmacist or the nurses or the guy scrubbing the floors.
That leaves cutting out the insurance companies!
The only "liberal" media is the one that serves "liberal" evil corporations. Because after all, "liberals" are also an audience to be sold to them.

Actually - the guy scrubbing the floors is a good spot to start.
Instead of hiring US janitorial labor, the government could just hire illegals for $1.95/hr.

THe first way to cut costs is to end the Iraqi entanglement. And destroy the DHS.
Then, funding entitlements of all sorts becomes more on-the-table debatable and also more doable.

DHS is like the DEA and other federal agencies. Once created, they are here to stay. That's why I groaned aloud when I first heard about the flippin DHS.
"Do you agree that the magical potency of today's ceremony is exactly equal to the magical efficacy of ceremonial baptism with dihydrogen oxide, and do you agree that the power of all magical ceremonies is nonexistent?" After a resounding "amen" from the audience, the first person in line yelled, "Dry me brother! I'm free!"
