FBI: "aw, we were THIS close!!"
Prime suspect in 2001 anthrax case commits suicide before he could be charged
Ivins, whose name had not been disclosed publicly as a suspect in the case, played a central role in research to improve anthrax vaccines by preparing anthrax formulations used in experiments on animals.
Regarded as a skilled microbiologist, Ivins also helped the FBI analyze the powdery material recovered from one of the anthrax-tainted envelopes sent to a U.S. senator's office in Washington.
Ivins died Tuesday at Frederick Memorial Hospital after ingesting a massive dose of prescription Tylenol mixed with codeine, said a friend and colleague, who declined to be identified out of concern that he would be harassed by the FBI.
The death -- without any mention of suicide -- was announced to Ivins' colleagues at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, or USAMRIID, through a staffwide e-mail.
The extraordinary turn of events followed the government's payment in June of a settlement valued at $5.82 million to a former government scientist, Steven J. Hatfill, who was long targeted as the FBI's chief suspect despite a lack of any evidence that he had ever possessed anthrax.
What a freakin' shambles.

"prescription Tylenol mixed with codeine"?
That seems like an odd choice for killing yourself.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

I guess they took away his anthrax.

Cheney had him killed.
Everyone knows the anthrax plot was of Saddam's doing. Well, everyone except those who tout no terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11.

In all seriousness, the timing of things does make you wonder. I don't normally go in for conspiracy theories, but there is a lot of fishy crap surrounding 9/11 and the anthrax attacks.
How, exactly, did this guy get militarized anthrax out of a high-security facility? Did he just hide it in his thermos? Why was it that he only directed the letters to key democrats, and not a random sampling of Congress.
Whatever the case, the combined effect of the two attacks is that the whole nation bent over, and let the Bushies strip us of our rights in short order. I have to admit, I find this highly suspicious.
I'm not saying he didn't off himself, but I suspect someone pulled the rug out from under him - kind of like the DC madam - leaving him a short list of bad choices.

Maybe it was the same killer that did the job on that British weapons scientist who was found dead a few years back.

Acetaminophen with Codeine is a pretty standard formulation--
Tylenol No 1: 300 mg acetaminophen, 15 mg caffeine and 8 mg codeine phosphate
Tylenol No 2: 300 mg acetaminophen 15 mg caffeine and 15 mg codeine phosphate
Tylenol No 3. 300 mg acetaminophen 15 mg caffeine and 30 mg codeine phosphate.
Tylenol No.4. 300 mg acetaminophen and 60 mg codeine phosphate

Just for kix, I never did hear the former AG/AG deny that in his opinion, it was legal for the UE1 to order the assassination of a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil for Arlen's SJC.
And even if it wasn't, it bears a striking likeness.

When my parents travel to the states, they always buy large quantities of pain medicine to take back with them, as Paramecetol sales are restricted in England.

jerwin's link says:
It is the lack of statistically significant and consistent changes in the relative rates of deaths for paracetamol versus coincidental changes for other drugs (Table 4 in [1]) that lead the authors to conclude that the regulations may have had no effect.

Very interesting Salon article there.
Bentonite ! Lies !
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

That's patently false. There were no Mexicans at the scene.

Is anyone else embarrassed that the public and Congress bought the idea that Saddam Hussein was having people stuff anthrax into friggin envelopes and madly mailing them off ?

People said Saddam was behind the anthrax? I didn't hear that one. Of course the american public has shown itself to be far more stupid/gullible than that, so its not surprising.
I could bore you with a philosophical tirade about freedom and tyranny, or try and explain to you what new horizons are suddenly open to me, but I doubt you would understand and if you did it might frighten you. That amuses me.

That doesn't count as prescient, since Chris Carter was in on the 9/11 conspiracy.

Some statistically significant portion of the american public would probably believe that Obama was behind the anthrax attacks if they heard it from the right person.
