Re: Google retreats a bit in face of Street View lawsuit
I checked out the google street images of my house. Creepy.
What was odd (but understandable) were the cars driving by through the sequence of photos. I've got a long frontage to the road, so there's three or four shots with frozen images of different vehicles passing in front of the camera.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

I always found street view lacked a certain level of image detail.

Re: Google retreats a bit in face of Street View lawsuit
IN TODAY'S technological society where you can do almost anything on the web – how much privacy do we surfers really have?
In response to a lawsuit, Google was asked if there is such a thing as ‘complete privacy’ in this day and age, to which the company flatly replied: no.
“Today’s satellite-image technology means that even in today’s desert, complete privacy does not exist,” the un-evil one declared.
The suit was filed by the Pittsburg Boring couple, Aaron and Christine.
So that's that. Privacy, you kant haz it.

If it was Microsoft doing this, people here would be far less defensive.
Google is crossing the line.

You've GOT to be kidding.
(I suspect most of us would be even more defensive. That's Microsoft you're talking about.)
I suspect there are other reasons we're "meh" about a reduction in privacy.

I think he meant defensive against Microsoft's actions.
Honestly I'd only be concerned if it were truly plane based, much higher detail, and/or happened much more often than these drives actually occur, Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft. Then again I don't do things like run around naked with my blinds open.

I should note I do believe in privacy but know it's my own responsibility. If I fulfill my responsibilities in maintaining my privacy and it is still violated then I have issues.
