Gift from friend at Apple - 4th gen iPod nano image
My friend over at Apple sent me this image.

This pretty much means all the rumors are true! Hopefully, they'll have a larger flash drive.

Um they don't have flash drives, just a piece of paper inside, like all golems.

Red ? Nice color but isn't this going to interfere with the special iPod campaigns ?

It doesn't look tapered at the sides like the image HERE, does it.

What's weird is I've heard similar rumors from...ahem..."reliable sources" which point to exactly such a device, but that photo looks totally fake. That scroll wheel is totally skewed.

Yeah! That's the one. Maybe the red one is just a funny angle.

Kind of ugly, but I guess that's moot at this point.
So i assume they're going the Zune route by making you turn it sideways to watch vids?

I think it may be too early for Nano 4th gen rumors. I would expect that the next nano release will be a 16GB version. You know, the one that should come at the same time as the video capabilities. They haven't milked the 3rd gen to death yet.
I'd love to see an iPod Touch Nano. All the technology is there. I challenge you, Apple...
If not a touch screen Nano, at least match the scroll wheel color with the Nano. Geez.

For the love of god no. No more touch screen interfaces, or if they go that route at least offer an alternative. In their current state, tactile interfaces are so much superior to touch interfaces, especially if you like to do anything physically active or use public transit late at night.

Re: Gift from friend at Apple - 4th gen iPod nano image
True, but I have a vision of what a touch screen Nano could be, and the public would eat it up. True, it wouldn't be the best for running or things like that, but I don't get the reference to "public transit late at night"?

on the touch you have to take it out to change songs/playlists opposed to the "wheel" style pods you can control it all in your pocket.

Ah, keeping it out of site from would-be iPod grabbers?
I don't have that problem where I live. At least I never have, anyway. Damn, jinxed myself, didn't I?

Exactly. To any would be thief you're just changing a song on your MP3 player. They can't see you've got the latest and greatest multi-hundred dollar offering from Apple.
