Re: No Music Sound From My Macbook
What is happening is the optical output is stuck on, something went in too far and pushed in the optical switch.
Some suggestions out there are canned air, toothpick/matchstick (being very careful) or plugging and removing the headphones until the light goes out.
iMac C2D, 2.0 GHz, OS X 10.5.5, 2.5 GB Ram.

Well, I dunno about stickin a toothpick in there, that sounds like a bad idea. And it's not the light that needs to be pressed. The light is the audio source. You need to find why it's on.
Go to Audio Midi Setup in your Utilities folder and check the output settings there. If there's anything funky, it should be fairly obvious.

Re: No Music Sound From My Macbook
There's a sensor in the audio output port that is supposed to detect when a plug is inserted or removed, and switches the audio output channels accordingly. Sometimes, this process fails.
Carefully sticking a toothpick into the headphones port may set things right, again. You don't need to press anything. In fact, you mustn't press anything.

I've fixed that by plugging and unplugging the same headphones. No need to push hard or anything, do it normally.

Re: No Music Sound From My Macbook
i checked out my audio MIDI setup and everything is fine in there apart for that i says that the output is not supported! Guess that's where the problem lies hey. I havn't tried using my other headphone jack yet, Ill try that out tonight and see if it makes a differnces to my output settings.
