Hang on Boot and Sleep Issues

Alright, now that I'm back to using my Mac again (class started again, so I moved out of my parents' into an apartment, meaning I have reliable wireless again, which I didn't have before), as it's been pretty much sitting in my basement at home taking the summer off.  So, that means it's time to get a few minor issues ironed out of it.

The first problem is that it's hanging on boot.  It gets to the grey Apple screen and then hangs.  The "flower" stops spinning for a few minutes, then it jumps to the login window.  I booted in verbose mode, and the last entry had something to do with an ethernet address.  However, I'm pretty sure the problem is rooted in the dual 1.8ghz Sonnet card.  It did this when I first installed it last year, and I was told to delete a few .kexts that related to the temp sensor on the CPU, as OS X apparently can't access Sonnet's temp sensor.  I upgraded to Leopard last year, and the problem came back.  I don't remember the exact .kexts that I deleted last time around, so I deleted a few of the CPU temp related ones, but the problem is still there.  The computer boots in safe mode without the flower freezing up, but that takes even longer.

The second issue is another one I've been dealing with for a while.  When the computer goes to sleep, the display doesn't always come out of sleep.  For example, the computer spins up and runs, but my monitor greets me with the "no signal" message.  Maybe someone has an answer this time around.  I know the last time I asked this (6+ months ago), it remained a mystery.

here's the specs though:

Gigabit Ethernet
Dual 1.8ghz Sonnet card
1.5gb RAM
Geforce 6200
