Hard drive woes
I had a Western Digital Network Hard Drive. I was accessing it using SMB, never did reformat it to Mac. The cooling system went and the drive started to over heat and shut down. So I pulled the hard drive out and put it into one of the nice little adapters you can get so you can connect Drives to your computer. The trouble is I cannot access the files on the drive. Disk Utility shows it is partitioned etc and formatted for Windows. It will not mount. How o how do I get into it - its got all my downloaded iTunes TV shows & movies on it.

Re: Hard drive woes
I can only guess that you need to find a Windows machine to network to.

Re: Hard drive woes
You may need a windows machine, if it's NTFS. If you're lucky, a disk utility will make it work again - just some corruption keeping it from mounting.
If you're less lucky, the drive is more or less dead. hat's it's SMART status?

Re: Hard drive woes
Turns out that they are LINUX formatted. So I downloaded Ubunutu and set it up in Parallels, troubles is that Ubunutu couldn't make contact with the drive. How do you get Leopard to talk to a Linux Drive?
