I am new to the Mac world....
I bought a Mac OS 9.2.1 from someone and it all the programs were wiped from the computer so I tried to log on to the Internet so that I can upgrade my system but does not allow me to do so. What am I doing wrong?
Another question what operating system could I upgrade to from a OS.9.2.1?

Do you have a browser installed?
If I remember correctly, OS 9.2.1 didn't come with any sort of browser by default. (Oh yeah, it came with Internet Explorer, didn't it?)
You're going to have to use a floppy disk or CD-ROM to get a browser on there if you don't have one. I'd recommend iCab ( http://www.icab.de ) it's free, and runs modern websites on 9.2

Are you able to connect to the internet at all ? Or just certain sites ?
Are you trying to connect via ethernet (DSL, cable modem ? ) or via the regular modem ? The regular modem connection is very similar to the ethernet connection --- the ethernet plug is a little wider.

Re: I am new to the Mac world....
OS 9 didn't require a browser to do a system update. Just go to extensions and launch the Update extension. That will update the OS to 9.2.2 (the highest 9 went to).

Do I remember that 9.2.1 - 9.2.2 was a paid upgrade? Or was that 9.1 - 9.2?
