I just got one from first publisher billing, sounds like they changed the name and just kept on going.
They still list the name on the invoice as MacAddict though.
I got an offer from "Publishers Billing Center" offering MacAddict for 14.95. I wrote a check and mailed it Oct 21, 2007. It cleared. I forgot about it until now when I found the offer while doing my taxes. I have received nothing. Today, March 30, 2008
I called the toll free number 1-866-732-5851 and got a recording that the mail box was full, hang up. This sounds like fraud. Using the mail for fraud carries a stiff penality like 1 to 5 years for each event. That can put you away for life. I will try the toll free number again and write to the PO Box 61001, Reno, NV 89506 before filing a complaint with the P.O. If any of you have been defrauded by someone with a similar name check the telephone number and PO box. It may be common to all names and if you have the same address and number let me know because this case may get bigger.

Same here. I lost $14.95. Thing is, they got me my last subscription for real, but I guess that was the bait for stealing my money this time. My check was sent 12/18/07.
They are still sending out these scam renewal notices.

Re: SCAM! ALL SUBSCRIBERS PLEASE READ!
I just got off the phone with Justin from Dial America, who said that he represented MacLife. He noticed that my subscription was going to end soon and because I was such "valued" customer, he wanted to offer me a great deal.
This deal was for $44.95 to renew my subscription for 2 years.
Since I had my laptop open and running, I Googled "maclife subscription" and found that Amazon had a 2 year subscription as well. http://www.amazon.com/MacLife-2-year/dp/B000OYCLGS
$29.90 for those who don't want to click through.
As you can see, I was curious as to why I...being a valued customer...was being asked to pay that much more than the average Joe. I told Justin what I had just found on Amazon and he was...mystified. He had "never heard that before" and he would have to let his supervisor know.
I asked him for the e-mail address of his supervisor, so that I could send him the link. He gave me their website instead. Needless to say...I declined the awesome deal.
Far be it from me to impede a "sales" process for a company wanting to make money. I for one would at least prefer that process come in the form of an e-mail, vs. a phone call. Especially when it's from some kid who could give a rats ass about what he was selling. Beyond that, the quality of the mag and it's content is what sells it for me. I don't need a kid or anyone else for that matter to tell me different. That may change if I keep getting calls from Justin.
Boo Hoo on you MacLife. If from what I'm reading is right, you're unsure of how folks like Dial America are getting your customers info. I think you need find a big clamp and find a place to put it.

I seriously doubt the magazine is truly affiliated with whomever called you, despite what you were told.
I get these calls (and renewal notices) all the time, usually for magazines I've never subscribed to.
