Re: I hurt
Was the "necklace" you had a "dog tag" like the military have. I always wear one when I am more than 100 miles away from home (and all the time when I am home too) and no one has ever asked my about it. But I also have a 911 memorial dog tag on it to.

Re: I hurt
Glad you're OK, res.
I've thought about one of those medical ID tags, too, but I hate wearing any kind of jewelery (I even use a pocket watch), so I'll hold off until I start using insulin, which is when I'll start running a much greater risk of unhealthy low blood sugar levels.

Re: I hurt
The necklace was a standard medic alert necklace.
They are easily hidden but I don't like the feel against my skin.
Also when I was a lifeguard (which I'm not anymore) necklaces were not allowed. something about victims grabbing for them. Our whistles were easy break strings.
The bracelet was standard medical alert bracelet - and while it serves a purpose, it really does get tiresome when every coffee shop you go to and start talking with people, someone has to comment on it and ask what it is for and then talk about their friend who got "cured" by eating a high fat diet or whatever the latest pseudo science has to offer (the high fat diet works in limited number of cases, though it is not a cure, and causes other health issues).
If I had seizures all the bloody time I would wear something - but it's not that common of occurrence.
What I will see though is if my body chemistry has changed and I'm better able to deal with the side effects than I use to be. If it works out this time, in a year or so I could be driving again. So maybe it was good that this happened.

Re: I hurt
I never realized the reason you can't drive is seizures.
Also, do you take medicine for the issue?

Re: I hurt
I haven't taken medicine in years.
At least with my epilepsy, medicine doesn't stop the seizures if I don't get enough sleep and the medicine increased the amount of sleep I needed considerably - so I'd have seizures anyway if I had any kind of life. IE - the side effect was worse than the disorder, a concept some doctors have trouble grasping in their superiority complex "they always know best" world.
That reaction may have changed as I got older though, at least according to the ER doctor (who may have been lying through his teeth - I don't know) - so I'm giving the meds another shot. If I end up needing 12+ hours of sleep again, forget it - can't live needing that much sleep.

Hey wow - I've actually got a doctor fairly close to me who prescribes Marijuana.
Back in my 20s while experimenting with it, I didn't have a single seizure.
Had them before and after that period though.
I think I'll make an appointment.

Wow man. Get well soon. I've seen people seize before, and it's never a good time.

Re: I hurt
I saw the doctor today.
Apparently Roundup has a component that aggravates the nervous system - his guess is it was the roundup that caused the seizure after years of none, so he wants me to hire someone else to do that part of the gardening in the future - because it can trigger a repeat even if I'm medicated.
I didn't see any seizure warning on the label - I may write them a letter and ask them to add it (no, I have no plans to sue anyone over this - lawsuits are a big part of what is wrong with this country). There should however be a warning.
I was using the concentrate that you mix in water and then pump air into to pressurize it making a spray - I probably inhaled some.

Good for you, Res. I am sure you could find a lawyer who would take the case on contingency... but its way better that you'd just like to see a warning on the bottle. And I am really glad to hear you are ok. I have a friend who has frequent seizures and it's a genuinely frightening thing to deal with.
From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law.

Re: I hurt
If you were to sue anyone, you should sue the HOA that instigated the twisted chain of events that led up to the entire incident. I would be sure to write them an extremely sarcastic "thank-you" note for being so concerned about the appearance of your neighborhood. They should give you some sort of reward for risking your life (albeit unknowingly) in order to maintain the image of their neighborhood. Just goes to show you what a good idea minding your own damn business really can be.
Glad you're OK, resedit.
You should have told your doctor that, even though you plan to avoid using Roundup yourself from now on, you'd still like to have a prescription for some pot just to be on the safe side.
After all, who knows how much of this nasty ingredient is now lying dormant in your system, just waiting to trigger another seizure, eh?

I think you should contact your doctor and have him write me a prescription too. You know, just in case.
