The Pie Holes Speak!
Just figured it be fun to respond to MacLife's 25 reasons for PC ppl to shut their pie holes. Heres my list:
1. And the Mac Pro is not clunky and cumbersome how?
2. Sorry but I do not have a fetish for brushed metal.
3. Least we can build our own rigs without violating Apple's EULA
4. Pride comes before the fall...
5. Ummm, how old is that BSOD image you used?
6. Umm we can use more than just Intel and for much cheaper overall cost.
7. Least we aren't rebooting between XP and OSX all the time on ours just to get stuff done.
8. Rather pay <$500 every 2yrs than have to buy a whole new rig. Real PC users, don't goto repair shops
. Plus upgrading means less waste in landfills!
9. Gee I guess all those "quality" ports Apple gets are not buggy at all? *Cough* KOTOR *Cough*
10. Depends if your stupid enough to buy el-cheapo PCs
11. Nany nany boom boom stick your head in doo doo!!
12. All work and no play makes NC a dull boy...
13. Enjoy your USB hubs!
14. Stop being antisocial. Reason why you never go to a LAN party...you have NO GAMES TO PLAY AT ONE!! ZING!!
15. My PC friends can beat up your friends in UT anyday!
16. You actually watch TV?
17. And we are envious of you, how?
18. Yo ho yo ho a Windows pirate life for me!
19. So your all a bunch of scrawny guys who like to pick on people with glasses?
20. And how many Apple Stores are there compared to PC resellers?
21. You do know your laptops still ship with 1 button right?
22. And you've still not advanced into the realm of multi button...sounds like, you're stuck in the past man!!
23. lol both are resource hogs...no reason to be proud of them.
24. Least we can upgrade and choose parts that don't suck, and they will still work with our older hardware!
25. And OSX started out without shame? Gee, I guess Apple really didn't have to totally drop OS9, you all would have adopted a bloated and slow OS on your own?
Anyone else got a funny list of your own? No I don't hate Macs, I like em. Just thought ML's list was a little stupid.

I argue the same for every tower.
2. Sorry but I do not have a fetish for brushed metal.
A. it's not brushed
B. yeah there is better but there also a lot worse
4. Pride comes before the fall...
OS X will never have the virus count Windows has but it doesn't hurt to be careful.
5. Ummm, how old is that BSOD image you used?
The on ML used was released 10/26/2007
7. Least we aren't rebooting between XP and OSX all the time on ours just to get stuff done.
Rebooting is for gaming
8. Rather pay <$500 every 2yrs than have to buy a whole new rig. Real PC users, don't goto repair shops

My last computer was 8 year old when I replaced it. Also upgrading does not yield much less waste in landfills as you'd think and I still say I'm far more likely to recycle a whole computer and toss a loose part.
9. Gee I guess all those "quality" ports Apple gets are not buggy at all? *Cough* KOTOR *Cough*
True but to be fair they're not porting from the best of sources.
10. Depends if your stupid enough to buy el-cheapo PCs
Or media players or...
11. Nany nany boom boom stick your head in doo doo!!
Jealous much
12. All work and no play makes NC a dull boy...
12. All work and no play makes anyone a dull boy..
13. Enjoy your USB hubs!
Hub singular
16. You actually watch TV?
Discovery Channel is still pretty good & Sci-Fi Cannel has a couple decent shows
18. Yo ho yo ho a Windows pirate life for me!
Using Windows reminds me of another thing PC is short for.
19. So your all a bunch of scrawny guys who like to pick on people with glasses?
If you actually watch the ads the skinny dude doesn't do any of the picking.
20. And how many Apple Stores are there compared to PC resellers?
Not as many but there are also more Apple Resellers than Apple stores
(Off topic: The local Best Buy finally opened an "Apple Shop" which more than resembled a Mini Apple Store sans a Genius Bar.)
21. You do know your laptops still ship with 1 button right?
22. And you've still not advanced into the realm of multi button...sounds like, you're stuck in the past man!!
Having multiple buttons is preferable but not necessary when done right
23. lol both are resource hogs...no reason to be proud of them.
I find some Widgets useful and the rest I've found ways to disable the one I don't want. Still it doesn't address the crappy Xeroxing. Apple's resource hogging toy is out of the way by default where Window's resource hogging toy is in the way by default
24. Least we can upgrade and choose parts that don't suck, and they will still work with our older hardware!
Assuming the drivers don't conflict.

Re: The Pie Holes Speak!
I'll provide a link to the referenced MacLife article since you didn't.
That particular MacLife BSOD image is a coverflow screenshot showing Leopard's icon for Windows (or SaMBa) network shares. So, Apple's actually responsible for that. I agree with you though; as with kernel panics in OS X, BSODs in Windows 2000 and later are pretty rare (although like OS X kernel panics they still happen on occasion). A more fair comparison would be with the Mac OS from the Windows 95/98/ME era, which would be Mac OS Classic in all of its extensions conflict glory.

Re: 8 - no, the vast majority of PC users don't go to repair shops - they go to Best Buy and either A: bring home another machine, or B: Pay Geek Squad hundreds of dollars to fix the one they have.
Computer geeks don't go to repair shops. Computer users have no choice. Mac or PC, doesn't matter.
(And yes, not only are one HD, the DVD-R and the case the only original parts of my 2-year-old eMachine, but I'm also the only "tech" who's ever touched it. So don't give me any bs about not being a "real" PC luser.

No one would who remembered your bolting of a Tornado 80mm fan onto the Swiftech cooler on your old PC, ca. '02.
Did that ever levitate, or just make neighbors cry?

Joke and edit quotes all you want. With Parallels around, gaming is almost the only thing that really requires a reboot anymore. And considering that a lot of people do not recycle parts like they are supposed to and the sheer bulk of the packaging of said part, particularly when shipped, the volume going into refills isn't nearly as much less as NC37 figures.

I never went quite that far, but I was older.
You could go even further these days in an 80, btw...
It outputs almost identical CFM as TFB0812UHE but with 4 decibels less noise.
CFM 107.30

No point, that 2 GHz Athlon never could get past 2.133 GHz anyway.
Since then, I have come to realize that an environment where the computer is NOT the loudest thing in the room is conducive to certain other... *ahem*... activities.
Like recording audio... why, what were you thinking?
(Honestly though, yes, that Vantec fan did actually cockblock me once, even at 7v. Moral of the story: always turn your computer off when you leave. You never know who will come back with you.)

Your choice of responses:

#2: Overheard in the Supreme Court chambers during an argument between Scalia and Ginsberg, or...
