Archive and install… what will I have to reinstall afterwards?
I'm considering reinstalling Leopard due to my inability to get my printer to work again with my MacBook but I'm tight on time and don't have he necessary free time to migrate everything back perfectly. If I do an archive and install, what will I have to reinstall manually? Something that immediately comes to mind is Microsoft Office, but I'm not sure if all of its files reside within the Home folder or not. Another thing is Undercover, which is deep-level laptop tracking software but that should just take a minute. I would hate to do a reinstall to find out that I don't have the necessary install discs for some piece of software or have a difficult time migrating fully while still leaving behind the old junk. Thanks for your input!

Any system haxies, such as Candy Bar.
Applications are less likely to need a re-install. Microsoft Office ? Sort of a system hack right there.

Why do all that to get a printer working? Go to the manufacturer's website, download the newest drivers for your printer/OS. Delete the printer from System Preferences, install the new drivers, go back to System Preferences and get it back again.
Surely that's easier than wiping out your entire system?

Well both this and thisproblem have been plaguing me lately so I feel like a reinstallation may help me. I have my Leopard install DVD and the 10.5.5 combo update, so perhaps next week I'll give it a spin if I'm confident I can have all my programs and settings installed and working without any hitches.
