The Socialist Party denies that Obama is a socialist
Steve Colbert had Brian Moore, the Socialist Party's candidate for President on The Colbert Report last night and asked him if he was offended that McCane and Palin have been calling Obama a socialist.
He said, certainly, because Obama's not a socialist. Way to get it from the horse's mouth, huh?
They even had a link to an article about it posted on their website.
Moore said McCain and Palin are abusing the "socialist" label. Likewise, he said Obama's programs wouldn't create a true wealth redistribution.
...
Moore wants to nationalize the entire banking system and establish an independent banking authority, composed of consumers, workers and economists.
"Go all the way," he said during one of his two recent Fox News appearances. "Take them over lock, stock and barrel."
All this socialist talk gives candidacy some legitimacy. Moore said, "Everyone I run into now says, "Hey, you're not so crazy.'"
hee. hee. hee.

Re: The Socialist Party denies that Obama is a socialist
Socialism is rampant among both parties. They're just the two halves of the welfare/warfare wealth distribution system.
In fact, the only reason that the Democrats could be considered more socialist than the GOP is that they they support both welfare AND warfare in fairly equal measure, while the GOP just ups the warfare portion and slightly reduces the welfare part.

What does the socialist party know about who is socialist?
Socialists aren't smart enough to know who is and is not socialist.

It's good to see the word "liberal" take a back seat to the word "socialist".

Apparently she was quoted today as saying she'd be interested in a 2012 run.

The Republicans are probably referring to a chart like this to arrive at their conclusion:
"He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife."

Brian Moore is on CSPAN WJ taking calls and outlining the Socialist position (sounds like a Libertarian with ethics or something.)

He did just call O'Bama 'a capitalist of the worst sort.'
I mighta voted for him.

Re: The Socialist Party denies that Obama is a socialist
He's on the NC ballot, I think.
But I've had it with 3rd parties for now.
(unfortunately, that's the sort of reaction the two established parties are looking for with the imposition of restrictive ballot laws)
